In reply to Hamza Nuhu. "Writers often don’t realize what their work means until after they’ve written and revised it; " I always wondered about this. I remember discussing The Great Gatsby in high school and all the egg symbolism. Even a Daisy is yellow inside and white outside. Did Fitzgerald figure all that out during revision? I also like how symbols are not explained in the story by the narrator. The reader is supposed to be left wondering what it all means.
