So if there is a series, the resolution is the end of the first story and can be the start of the second story, am I right?(because the story can go on, not just ending with the resolution?)

Hi Jordan,

Character development isn’t something that was really “created”—it’s more like a set of techniques and craft elements that have been honed and identified over time. In that same way, Freytag didn’t really create plot structure, he simply identified a structure that was common to a lot of plots in the Western literary canon. I hope this helps!

“When he’s not writing, which is often, he thinks he should be writing.” Haha, that is totally me！ I am teaching my students personal narratives and am using Freytag’s Pyramid to help them craft their stories. Additionally, I hope they connect the theory to a “growth mindset” too.
