A writer of suspense, I searched for my magical realism story for over two years. My dad inadvertently gave it to me when coming to visit me. He left his cane at home before arriving at his departing airport, and he stumbled through the airports. Thus, my Traveling Cane series, told in the first person of the cane, communicates with his charges and, beyond helping them physically, helps them emotionally with their emotional struggles. Me? I’m struggling to find tropes for this genre. Amazon is apparently degrading it. I’m hanging in, and your article helped!

Thank you for the article on magic realism. Something I’ve been working on and short stories and novels and a novella. But it’s good to have an expository piece on it.
